Our History

The Fireside Hearth and Home stores, both in Eau Claire and Minocqua, are similar to most small businesses in Wisconsin. They're family owned and managed by Randy and Wendy Nickerson, people who know how to treat the customer right.

Randy has over 19 years experience working in the hearth industry. He started out as a sales representative for Heat & Glo in Burnsville, MN, serving both retail customers and builders in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, and then for Heat & Glo and Heatilator as a Category Product Manager. While in product development, many of his products won hearth industry awards for "Best in Show." In 2007 Randy and Wendy purchased the Eau Claire and Minocqua stores after deciding they wanted to return to Wisconsin, land of the Packers, living the great Wisconsin life.

Formally known as Allied Fireplace in Eau Claire, WI, and Minocqua Fireplace in Minocqua, WI, the store names were changed in 2005 to Fireside Hearth and Home. A brand originally started in Eagan, MN, Fireside Hearth and Home is now a national, coast-to-coast hearth brand. That means delivering a consistent level of quality products with quality service, all right here in Wisconsin.
